Bread Machine Dinner Rolls

These are my go to rolls for dinner or to take to a pot-luck. They are fluffy and so good with a little butter or just on their own. They are very easy to make as well and turn out every time I’ve made them.

Any bread baked makes the house smell so good. It is the nature of bread.  Winter is when I make most of my bread as we live in a very hot climate in the SouthWest and so not much baking in the house in the summer months. I get all of my bread baking out of my system in the fall and winter.

Bread is actually a fairly new frontier in baking for me too.  Have been making it for about 5 years.  Having a bread machine really helps the process for me though as it mixes and kneads and goes through the first proof in the “dough” setting on the bread machine. I never really like to knead. Sourdough will be my next frontier.

These rolls are really very good, fluffy dinner rolls and easy bread to make too.  I make these usually to take to a Wednesday night Bible study as it does make 16 rolls. A great roll to make for any dinner for the family.

INGREDIENTS

1 Cup Warm Water

2 Tablespoons Butter

1 teaspoon Salt

1 Egg, beaten

¼ Cup Sugar

3 Cups All-Purpose Flour

3 teaspoons Quick Rise Yeast (also known as Instant Yeast)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add the water and egg to the bread machine pan.

  2. Mix the flour, salt and sugar and put that in the bread machine pan

  3. Make a well in the middle of the flour and put the yeast in that well.  Place the butter in all four corners of the pan.

  4. Set the bread machine on the “dough” setting.

  5. When done, transfer dough to a lightly floured counter top or pastry cloth and shape into a ball.

  6. Cut the ball in half, and then cut those halves into two pieces and so on until you have 16 pieces of dough.

  7. Shape your pieces into round buns, and place in a 9X13 baking dish. Leave about an inch between. Cover with plastic wrap spray with cooking spray. Let rise for 30 to 40 minutes in a warm place or until doubled in size.

  8. Brush the buns with melted butter and place in an oven that is preheated to 375 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes. When done, brush with butter again, and serve.
