Best Soft Peanut Butter Cookies

This is a very good recipe, actually my favorite peanut butter cookie recipe. I lived in Framingham, Massachusetts in the 1980s, and got this from a caterer there.  I have used it ever since.

Peanut butter cookie recipes have come and gone but this is the one that I always go back to as it is just a great recipe. If I ever find a better one I will put it on this site.

My Mom’s peanut butter recipe was good, but a totally different recipe. Those cookies were the harder, more dry peanut butter cookies, but delicious.  These softer peanut butter cookies are more to my taste.

This is the best peanut butter cookie ever. I have been making these for years and years. I got it from a caterer in Framingham, Massachusetts. If I want peanut butter, I make these cookies.  Go peanut butter big or go home. Right?

Ingredients

1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar

1 Cup White Sugar

1 Cup Unsalted Butter

2 Eggs

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

2 ½ Cups Flour

Directions

  1. Cream butter, peanut butter, and both sugars together.

  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

  3. Add baking powder, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well.

  4. Stir in flour, then chocolate chips. Mix well

  5. Roll into balls, roll in sugar. Make a criss-cross pattern on the cookies by pressing a fork one way and then another onto the cookie.

  6. Bake on parchment covered baking sheets at 350 degrees F for 6 to 7 minutes or just until cookies are done.
