Chex Mix (SUPER SECRET)

This is a recipe that has been around for 45 years in my family.  There is nothing like it in commercial Chex mixes.  This is better, far better.

My brother-in-law would make tons of this around Christmas and deliver it to friends, family, and co-workers.  It is addicting.  You start with a little and before you know it the whole bowl is gone!  This is a MUST TRY recipe.

I make this for road trips mostly but also for game days, and game nights.  It is a bowl of some of the best stuff you will ever have.  I am sharing this with you all as this recipe is just so good it must be shared in my opinion.  Try it.

This stuff is one of my family’s best recipes.  It was the brainchild of my brother-in-law, who, sadly, passed away from bone cancer in 2020.  His recipe lives on and rightly so.  My brother-in-law’s legacy.

SAUCE INGREDIENTS:

2 Sticks Unsalted Butter

1 Tablespoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt

2 Cups Cheezits Crackers

DIRECTIONS:

SAUCE DIRECTIONS

  1. Put the butter, Worcester sauce, garlic salt and seasoned salt in a microwave safe bowl.

PUT IT ALL TOGETHER:

  1. Mix all of the cereal ingredients together. Toss to combine.

  2. With a spoon, drizzle the sauce on and toss, and drizzle the sauce and toss and do this until the sauce is all on the cereal.

  3. Put 1 to 2 cups of the cereal mixture into a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 1 minute 35 seconds, then toss, and microwave for another 45 seconds.  Put into a large container and salt with seasoned salt.  Repeat until all of the mixture is finished. Store this in an airtight container for a month of more.  This can be made ahead as it keeps well in an airtight container.
